Es waren meist die künstlerischen Frauenbewegungen, die Künstlerinnen den Weg in den Kunstmarkt bahnten. Sie entwickelten widerständige Praktiken gegen geschlechtsspezifische Ausschlüsse von Künstlerinnen aus Kunstausbildung, Kunstbetrieb, Kulturpolitik und schließlich Kunstmarkt.
It was predominantly the artistic women’s movements, which laid down the path for women artists into the art market. They developed resistant practices against gender-specific exclusions of women artists from art education, cultural activities, cultural politics and subsequently the art market. Da die erste künstlerische Frauenbewegung hierzulande dieses Jahr ihren 100. Geburtstag feiert, ziehen wir in deren ersten selbstbestimmten Ausstellungsräumlichkeiten eine performative feministische und machtkritische Handlungsebene ein, die weltweit inmitten des Kunstmarktes agierende Akteurinnen nach deren aktuellen Ansätzen „befragt“:
* Wo liegen Ihre widerständigen feministischen Handlungsebenen innerhalb der Kunstwelt?
* Wie ist Ihre Subjektposition bezogen auf die eigene Praxis?
* Wie / Positionieren Sie sich als anti-rassistische/r Feminist_in?
* Wie / Arbeiten Sie gegen kapitalistische Strukturen / Dynamiken?

Anlässlich des Jahrhundertjubiläums wird über das Jahr ein Programm präsentiert, das sich aus theoretischen Aktivitäten und einer sich erweiternden Jahresausstellung zusammensetzt. Aktuell sind Beiträge von Amanda Amaan/Rudolfine Lackner, Elke Auer/Esther Straganz, Linda Bilda, Lina Dokuzovic und der Drogerie zu sehen. Alle Aktivitäten nehmen dabei Bezug auf die historische Herkunft der VBKÖ im Außen androzentrischer Institutionstotalitäten und auf aktuelle Anknüpfungspunkte vorwiegend feministisch geprägten Widerstands.

On the occasion of the centennial anniversary, a program for the year will be presented, which is composed of theoretical activities and a growing annual exhibition. Currently, works by Amanda Amaan/Rudolfine Lackner, Elke Auer/Esther Straganz, Linda Bilda, Lina Dokuzovic and the Drogerie are on display. All of the activities refer to the historical origin of the VBKÖ in the androcentric totalities of institutions and to current links of resistance predominantly imprinted by feminism.
