Am 1. April 2010 wird die Vereinigung bildender Künstlerinnen Österreichs 100 Jahre alt. Ihre Konstituierung erfolgte als erste Künstlerinnenvereinigung Österreichs und im Kampf um Gleichheit, Rechte und Teilhabe von Künstlerinnen an der Kunstwelt im Zuge der Entwicklungen der 1. Frauenbewegung.
The Austrian Association of Women Artists will turn 100 years old on April 1st, 2010. Its constitution took place as the first women’s artist association of Austria within the struggle for equality, rights and participation of women artists in the art world during the course of the developments of the 1st women’s movement.Ihre revolutionären Ziele lauteten Förderung, Wahrung, Hebung und Schaffung künstlerischer Interessen für Künstlerinnen.
Der neue Vorstand der VBKÖ, Präsidentin: Rudolfine Lackner, Schriftführerin: Lina Dokuzovic, Elke Auer, Iris Borovcnik, Veronika Dirnhofer, Hilde Fuchs, Nina Höchtl, Ivana Marjanovic, Esther Straganz und Angela Wiedermann, beehrt sich nun, Sie anlässlich dieses besonderen Ereignisses am Donnerstag ab 19:00 bei einem intimen Cunttail und einer gigantischen Geburtstagstorte in der VBKÖ begrüßen zu dürfen. Louise Bourgeois, Olga Brand-Krieghammer, Judith Butler, Li Yuan-Chen, Don Carlos Balmori, Olympe de Gouges, Lady Gaga, Frieda Gold, Emma Goldman, Marianne Hainisch, Donna Haraway, Zarana Papic, Beatriz Preciado, Queen of Eggs und die Fist haben sich bereit erklärt, als Zeremonienmeisterinnen durch den goldenen Abend zu führen.

Anlässlich des Jahrhundertjubiläums wird über das Jahr ein Programm präsentiert, das sich aus theoretischen Aktivitäten und einer sich erweiternden Jahresausstellung zusammensetzt. Aktuell sind Beiträge von Amanda Amaan/Rudolfine Lackner, Linda Bilda, Lina Dokuzovic und der Drogerie zu sehen. Alle Aktivitäten nehmen dabei Bezug auf die historische Herkunft der VBKÖ im Außen androzentrischer Institutionstotalitäten und auf aktuelle Anknüpfungspunkte vorwiegend feministisch geprägten Widerstands. On the occasion of the centennial anniversary, a program for the year will be presented, which is composed of theoretical activities and a growing annual exhibition. Currently, works by Amanda Amaan/Rudolfine Lackner, Linda Bilda, Lina Dokuzovic and Drogerie are on display. All of the activities refer to the historical origin of the VBKÖ in the androcentric totalities of institutions and to current links of resistance predominantly imprinted by feminism.
