Art in Times of Neofascism: A Conversation with Nadia Granados
Artist Talk
Tuesday, November 10th, 2026, 18:00
VBKÖ – Vereinigung bildender Künstlerinnen Österreichs
What can art do when far-right ideas become part of everyday life? How can it help us confront histories of violence and impunity and challenge the ways gender is used to uphold heteropatriarchal power?
Join us at VBKÖ for a conversation with Colombian interdisciplinary artist Nadia Granados. Granados’s work explores the politics of images, media ecologies and technological imaginaries. Through performance, expanded cinema, installation, artificial intelligence and archival work, she investigates how visual technologies shape memory, violence, desire and political subjectivity. In projects such as La Fulminante, COLOMBIANIZACIÓN.COM and PASEO, she intervenes in how images are made and circulated to show how they shape our sense of reality and challenge dominant versions of it.
